C++ Programmer (Video Services) Permanent

Based in Central London, our client researches and develops cutting edge video streaming technologies.

They are looking for an engineer to join the video services division to develop tools and APIs for a range of “TV & Video” services application frameworks. Supporting a host of high profile TV & Video service partners across Europe including the BBC, OCS and Sky.

Job Summary
The successful applicant will work within the full project lifecycle including aiding in the design and development of the application frameworks & tools, sample code, and documentation.

You will also liaise with our first-line support engineers to investigate any issues that may arise from our partners.

You will also be encouraged to take part in hackathons and other innovation initiatives within the global R&D department.

Applicants need to work well in a team on technical projects. They will need to be highly self- motivated, able to work well unsupervised, willing to think creatively and adopt/try new technologies where applicable.

Technical Skills

The following skills or experience are necessary:

• A strong technical background in computer science, educated to at least degree level or with equivalent experience.
• Experience of programming in C/C++
• Understanding of common networking protocols and network programming
• Strong debugging and problem solving skills

The following skills/experience are highly advantageous:

• Unity C# development
• Knowledge of general web application development (HTML5, JS, etc)
• Knowledge of any Video streaming technologies such as HLS, DASH, AVC, HEVC, AAC
• Digital Rights Management such as PlayReady, Common Encryption
• Knowledge of WebKit development
